Airline Pilot & Real Estate Agent
Hey Everyone,
I'm going to be transitioning into the 121 world shortly and am considering getting my real estate broker's license with the intent of focusing on being a "part-time" listing agent. I know I'll be responsible for drumming up my own leads, going to listing appointments, coordinating the transaction, etc.
Are there any pilots on this forum that work as a real estate agent in addition to their 121 job? I'd be interested in hearing about how you manage your schedule and what kind of success you are having doing both.

Lots of your fellow airline peeps do this, both pilots and F/A's.. The most challenging piece is being available on weekends for showings, especially if you are junior... Many bid reserve intentionally to get weekends off if they cannot hold weekends off as a lineholder. Good luck to you!

Just like PerfInit said. It's probably best to bid reserve and work real estate on your reserve days off.
I wasn't an agent but when the real estate market tanked in 2008/09, I helped my parents buy up foreclosed homes. I was a fairly senior FO at a regional carrier at the time. So, I would drop or try to giveaway as many trips as I could.
My parents made a few hundred thousand dollars as a result.
If you get good at Real Estate, you can make a lot of money. If you get good at Real Estate, you'll want to keep Real Estate as your primary job and keep aviation on the side.
