How accurate are these? I for one can agree that the hotel van is ALWAYS a crazy ride and am surprised that I make it to the hotel unscathed.

Not really. Some airports and arrivals are notorious for leaving you high and(?) fast. There's an old saying about the speedbrakes.....they're for when you screw up, not for when the controller screws up.
