Default Sel & mel

I am a student pilot and I have a silly yet simple question that I wondered if you would be able to clear up for me.

What exactly does SEL and MEL stand for in aircraft category in your pilot log book?

I know SE is for Single Engine and ME for Multi Engine but what is the L for? Log??

Thanks

Single Engine Land
Multi-Engine Land

i.e. Not a seaplane (water), blimp, balloon, tiltrotor, or a helicopter.

Google Pilot License category and class. You're asking about the class of aircraft.
