Clarity Aloft

What are people’s thoughts on this headset?
I’ve tried David Clark of course, and Telex. Prefer the clarity of the DC, (Telex I have a hard time when ATC is talking , not to us, and the captain is rambling on about something)
However, with both, even Telex, I hate the clamped feeling- anything over 2 hours is rough.
And yes, it’s vain, but I *hate* headset hair. It looks stupid and unprofessional.

I've tried both, and I would recommend looking at the Halo over the Clarity Aloft. It offers many of the same benefits at a much lower price point. It also uses sound tubes instead of wires going to the earpieces, which means less chance of problems with the speakers (I had a ton of issues with the Clarity).

Thanks! Never heard of them- will take a look. You use them and recommend?

Yes, I currently use the Halo and definitely recommend it. I also used to own the Clarity Aloft. I liked the concept, but had issues with the speakers cutting out and eventually gave up on it when I was given a Bose A20 as a gift (which I've since sold).

The only big limitation with the Halo is that they don't offer a Bluetooth option. I've never been one to stream music through my headset, but I know a lot of guys I fly with do so that would be a dealbreaker for some.

Headset isn’t TSO. Technically can’t use 121 and 135 if not TSO certified for what it’s worth.

Not every carrier requires TSO certification.

Satisifed Halo user here. Went from a heavy and bulky Lightspeed Zulu2 to the Halo and haven't regretted it one bit. Plus I think he is offering a Bluetooth adapter for the Halo now, so if that's of interest to you, there is that.
