I feel that, in our profession, a strong union is actually critical to the safety of our customers. For Amazon, however, not so much.

No, it isn't scary. Stop being dramatic.
Unions are a necessary evil for pilots because we are eventually stuck with one company for the rest of our careers. I don't know all the ins and outs of unions for other industries, but it's not SCARY to see both sides. What's scary is your black and white view these issues.

You do realize thousands of pilots around the world and in the US work safely in non-union jobs? In fact, outside of the 121 carriers, a minority are union members. We can earn good, middle-class livings and retire well off.
How many union members earn 5x the US median income elsewhere.
