I was so disappointed with this unveiling. The specs in terms of pricing, range, power etc. are quite good... but they made it look so ridiculous.
Elon’s goal is to get people away from ICE vehicles and into EV’s. They should of not made it so “out there”.
Interested to see how electric planes develop. I know there are some small ones and the range is not great, but curious to see how overtime this will change. I would assume they would be more reliable with less moving parts but obviously the amount of batteries required would be too $$ and too heavy.

Don’t worry Rivian and the F150(with rivians help) will dominate the EV truck market.

There have been promises of solid state batteries but so far no concrete stuff.
The M3 is a nice car. It's too bad Elon went off the deep end and hasn't focused on improving it and the model Y and instead put resources into this stupid pickup. The Rivian looks pretty nice.

Here's video on the bed cover in action. They say it's sturdy enough to stand on. They also say pre-orders are up to 189K, mostly the dual and triple versions.

Instead of throwing steel balls at it I'd be more impressed by showing how someone of average stature could set a 5 gallon bucket of tools over the side bedwall as it's canted inwards and slopes up to the cab roof???
In other news Elon came clean and said it's planar because our machines simply couldn't bend stainless steel without breaking!

I'm just a dumb pilot and not a physics major. Also, haven't really followed that close, just the video clip. But if it all panned out like this, pretty interesting;

ALSO, assuming this is legitimate, just hope something impacts the glass FIRST, then body pieces and you GTG.

Doesn't matter, "all press is good press" as they say.

On another forum, I was told “nobody loads over truck bed rails” by somebody that clearly doesn’t own a truck to do truck things and is enamored with this abomination.
Well golly gee, I’ve clearly been doing it wrong for two decades, thank goodness Elon’s flock corrected me...

I mean, sure the concept of the electric truck is cool. Especially, like the cars, it reaches engineering maturity, etc.
But never, NEVER discount people's use of things (like trucks/SUV's) to be a fashion statement and ONLY be used for "parking lot cool".

Yes it's going to have to be functional if it's going to compete with traditional trucks not to mention visually appealing, this is not that. The cars are beautiful, WTH happened with this?
I love the tailgate/ramp idea, this will be copied in the future by the big three. The high bed sidewalls are stupid. The plug in quad? meh, replace it with plug in landscaping equipment, weed whackers, blower, mowers etc. They can have one charging while using the other one, imagine a nice peaceful morning without the city lawn service racket? The short-range city driving would make this practical. Get back to design room Tesla and fix this thing!
