D.B. Cooper is still alive?
These two gentleman are 99.997% sure that they have located, identified and interviewed D.B. Cooper.
The press is starting to pick this up........interesting read ! http://websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44859 Here's a link to a local news station in Portland - KOIN - that has some videos on this. http://www.koin.com/Global/category....&nav=menu494_1 |
Cooper was almost certainly an ex vietnam green beret, parachutist, helicopter pilot, and known armed robber named Richard McCoy. He died during a jail break while serving a long sentance for hijacking another 727 shortly after the DB Cooper incident. The circumstantial evidence is overwhelming.

Actually, when you read what these two gentleman have learned about Richard McCoy, you will think otherwise !
Here's a part of what is mentioned about McCoy in that thread I linked above. "There have been many books, and theories about who Cooper is/was. Not one person who has claimed they know who Cooper is, has been able to actually place their suspect in Oregon on November the 24th, 1971. McCoy was a serious suspect, but, it was determined by the FBI that he was with his National Guard unit in Los Angeles during the time of the heist. All of this is coverd in the radio program. In addition, the flight attendant stated that McCoy was not Cooper. However, all of the potential Cooper's, I think McCoy was the best candidate, given his background. But, he was found to be in LA, when check out by the FBI. Don't forget, the MCCoy case happened only four months after Cooper, so, the FBI investigated extensively, any connection between the two. Didn't they have a Discovery Channel (or Nat Geo) special on DB? Can't get the video to load for me here, but I'd be interested in seeing the report. It is one of those great mysteries of the modern era. :)

The conclusion of that documentary with Bill Curtiss is that he died and was scattered by animals even though they couldn't find any bones. They didn't know exactly where he landed and Oregon is very large. Some of the money turned up years later where he probably landed. It washed down the Columbia River. He probably got hung up in a tree on landing, died the first week from that or injuries sustained on landing, or he could have also failed to deploy his parachute. There was no drop zone and he was unable to see anything, it only makes sense he landed badly. If he had landed well, there wouldn't be the traceable cash that turned up 8 years later, and the theory he went back and planted is silly if he had gotten away ok. It was a very risky jump he almost certainly died. Makes a good story though! I like UFO shows better personally.
