Warbirds?

Is any body involved (flying) with warbirds(WW1/2 era)?
It has always been a dream of mine to do as a side project from flying for the airlines; after I get my multi later this year, one of my goals is to get checked out to fly a B-17, or a B-24. How is this done? . I know that the pilots have to have a multi commercial with a bunch of time (insurance reasons?) Any ideas would be great.

PS. bet that would look awesome on a resume? A few hours on a B-17!j

I joined an organization a couple of months ago that restores war birds. They have a P51, T-6, B-17, and an A-26. I'm basically going to work my way up to fly them. Hopefully all of my donated time and money pays off.

What organization is that?

Historical Aircraft Squadron at Fairfield County Airport in Ohio. I haven't been a member that long, so I honestly can't say that much about it. It's non-profit and completely volunteer run.
