Exclamation Clarification on flyExclusive

Hey MCRN,

Great work putting this thread up about the current training/hiring freezes, furloughs, and closures.

I just wanted to clarify the part about flyExclusive considering furloughing pilots. While this was mentioned as a possibility in a video from our President, it was mentioned only as a last resort after a several phase response to this crisis. This would only be done after voluntary/military leaves were offered, a possible, temporary schedule change to 15/13, the postponing of bonuses, pay cuts from Managers first, and several other steps first. Of course, if the NAS shuts down, probably most of us would be furloughed until the airspace opens back up. Let’s hope that that isn’t for too long..

Again, thanks for your hard work getting this thread going.

I wonder if this thread can be moved to a more general location?

Either way, Mesa and Commutair now have pending furloughs. Letters just went out today. Not sure of the numbers.

If these airlines take any of the grant money, which, in theory the bill should be passed anytime now then they can't furlough until September. Wonder how this will effect furloughs that have already happened?

I’m curious where you heard that furloughs are pending at United. This will come as a great surprise to the 13,000 pilots here who have not heard any news about that.

A friend of mine at Swift said that he received a letter asking for volunteers from the pilot group to take unpaid LOA’s.

secondhand information I know, I apologize.

at this point, I’d expect all but cargo are starting that process.

I’m curious about the workings of the stimulus bill. If an airline takes govt money, they can’t furlough until the Fall, and the govt pays the pilots salaries. So 10,000 pilots at a Major, with an average salary of $250k/yr each, are going to sit home this summer and get full pay. Is that right?
