thank god that at least for the time being, the Fulcrum OVT is only a demonstrator aircraft. There are no actual operational OVT Mig-29's.

Not that the Su-30 is any slouch either...

Not that I know of. Russian planes are able to do some unique maneuvers, but really, why would we want one? Maneuvers like that won't do you any good when you've got two missiles coming up your butt from 20 miles away. Even if that thing ever did get in a dogfight, they'd better get the other plane on the first maneuver. Pulling something like that would leave you low and slow, which is the worst position you can be in in a dogfight. In another decade or two, it won't matter anyways, since all of our fighters will probably be UAV anyways, so they'll be able to turn on a dime regardless.

Although it still looks cool at an airshow

I remember how the pentagon thought that dogfights were over with the development of the missile and the whole F-4 Vietnam mess.
But, do you think that we have reached the point were dogfights are done?

I think so.... Now when two adversaries meet in the sky they will circle each other and meet on 121.5 (or the military equivalent) and one guy will say "It's on". Then he does the mig-29 dance while the other pilot watches and then the second guy dances around the sky in his thrust vectored jet. The loser then flies away with shame.
