Union Plus mortgage
#11
I used the union plus program, was very simple. I believe they only partner with Wells Fargo, and as long as you’ve paid on your mortgage for 12 months they will pay your mortgage for a period to help you out if you get furloughed. I can’t remember how long they take care of it, it was something like 6 or 12 months, and depending on your personal financial situation it will either be a grant or they’ll take it on to the backend of the mortgage with no penalties.

I know several people (about five) who have just refi-ed with Axos, plus me. They are more interested in your 2018/2019 tax return gross income than trying to analyze how your current pay is broken down. They also did not ask about industry status or pending furloughs, not sure if they researched or considered that but they didn't ask.

Costco has the best deals when I got my loan a few months ago. Even when i compared to Navy federal and other credit unions.
costco program also typically limo tas the lenders to only $170 origination fee and also gives you apples to apples comparisons without having to buy points at all.

I ended up going with Qotsa's advice in post #3. Got a competitive rate and joined Costco in the process.
I did get the ball rolling with Union Plus and Delta Credit Union as well, but ultimately chose NBKC because, well, I dunno, they just went the fastest and seemed like the least amount of hoops.
FYI, Delta Credit Union does accept other airlines, but not Spirit. I worked with them as an ex Expressjet employee.
