I get some occasional sharing of opinions but things are out of control. We have some Miata garbage infesting numerous legit good threads, TSA number analysis has decayed into Biden/Pelosi/Left talk, in general this has taken over the entire forum.

Politics and you versus me and you suck, Trump sucks, Biden sucks, rigged election, Hillary sucks, etc, has infested this forum.

where are the moderators? is this board even managed anymore?

I am not an innocent altar boy, I have participated also, but things are out of control.

Ummmm, that's not something I'd brag about.

The mods have stopped moderating because the website is owned by a BBS conglomerate that has no interest in actually running the site. it’s about pageviews, not upholding the integrity of a discussion.

and miatas are (very obviously) sports cars.

OOff is full of it, mainly because we don't always ban-hammer those who don't agree with her rather fringe views.

The Mods are pilots, who do this pro bono so we have no financial stake in moderation one way or another. IB doesn't really get into the moderation at all, we are free to infract and ban as needed and are not shy about that.

But we don't "patrol" every thread (again, unpaid volunteers) so we do rely on users to report inappropriate posts, which flags it to our attention. Especially this plague of covid-induced partisan politics.

It's a lot easier to press the "Report Post" button, than to start threads complaining about lack of moderation.

Guilty as of late, letting out some post election steam is reasonable methinks. As long as it doesn't turn into conspiracytheory.com I think we're ok. Things will calm down soon enough and we can go back to complaining about one of the greatest jobs on the planet.

And thanks to Rick and everyone else as mods, it is a thankless job.
