I know Ron from my time there. He's always been a nut. I see time has made things worse for him.

Does he keep it out of the flight deck? Or is it more like tirades on short final?

This guy once landed with the parking break on at PAKT. Blew the tires and ground the rims about halfway down. Took two big trucks to drag it off the runway. He wasnt fired because he claimed he wasnt trained not to use the parking brake inflight in his case against the company.
you could see the skid marks for years.
there's plenty more stories about him at his previous company. We were all happy when he left.

I never flew with him, but from what I heard, he is not well liked by anyone. As I recall, he had (or maybe still has) a large gun collection and an ammo bunker.

I had the misfortune of spending A LOT of time in an MD80 cockpit with Ron, and it sucked big time. He’s just as crazy as he looks. He’s a very angry man, and I know I heard one rant that was openly racist. He’s a huge gun nut, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s a little scary to think about such a radical guy having so much firepower.

Also, he’s a poor aviator and captain. Allegiant would be better off without him, and I’m sure all FOs and FAs would agree.

Was this person ranting over the PA to the passengers ? From reading the article I couldn't ascertain that.

But really, if you can't control your emotions and mouth or your social media, you probably shouldn't be in control of an airliner. IMHO

I understand the concern over posting openly racist comments, a stated desire to cause physical harm to a person or persons, wanting to overthrow the government, harassment..etc. There's NO place for any of that, I think we can all agree on that. However we should also all be concerned when donating to a legitimate political campaign is used against you even if you don't care for the candidate or campaign, I hope we also agree on that. Today it's MAGA supporters, tomorrow it's moderates and then it continues to move the left and the right. The article mentions identifying him by that very means and frankly? That's not a very good place to be.

We should all remember Martin Niemöller's quote - First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Another pilot identified, albeit not civilian (or maybe he was after the military career)
