Will China buy Embrarer?

There is speculation that it might happen. Would be a perfect fit.

Why? China would just steal the IP and hire a few "experts" and save a few billion

rickair7777 10-06-2021 07:37 AM

Brazilian gov might not go for that. They are pretty protective of their industry, jobs, and IP, especially in the case of what's probably their highest profile high-tech flagship business.

When the PRC moves in they usually want most of the jobs and all the IP.

Trump managed to outsource Bombardier's commercial division to Europe.

I guess it is not much of a surprise that fellow crony capitalist Bolsonaro is trying to do the same thing with Embraer.

You do realize that Trump has never been the president of Canada?

Not to mention, BBD “sold” the commercial airplane business to CALP with Airbus and BBD owning shares, subsequently BBD exercised the deal to sell it all to Airbus. Sheesh, more facts-free posting.

Trump and his cronies engineered the plan to place tariffs on Bombardier's new C series jets. He effectively outsourced thousands of North American aviation jobs to Europe.

Trump was great for Airbus, I'm sure they will be contributing to get him in again.

I thought US courts tossed the tariffs?

But Bombardier did it to themselves and it was a very, very long time coming. They had to be bailed out by somebody, and the honors went to airbus (vice the Canadian government again). Can't blame the Donald for EVERYTHING that goes wrong in the world, that's passe now.

Complete male bovine fecal matter. Trump did no such thing, Boeing did it and, in any event, the tariff was tossed by the courts as Rickair stated. Additionally, there an Airbus A220 “Canabus” line in Mobile, AL, which, however much some hate the fact, is in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Where, much of the high value IP and components are manufactured for both Airbus and Bombardier business Jets. Nice try, do some research and critical thinking next time.

You might research “outsourcing”; it doesn’t mean what you think it does.

Didn't that case for the tariffs get filed prior to President Trump getting into office?
