You guys are using the term proxy war with too wide of a brush, WW-I and WW-II both started out as proxy wars by your calculus.

In professional circles proxy war implies two outside parties meddling in an internal conflict for their own benefit... Korea, 'Nam, Angola, Nicaragua, etc, etc.

Supporting friends and allies with honest good intentions is not a proxy war, even if there are associated proxy-like benefits such as discouraging future adventurism.

Also by my lights it takes two to proxy, and RU is not engaged in a proxy war, they are engaged in an invasion.

The SE coast of FL is a border Cliff. When I think what the magic city was in the 60s compared to now..can’t find the words. Cuba, Haiti, DR, Jamaica, wouldn’t you split?

Bilirakis BlogOn Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed, H. Res. 997, a resolution supporting a NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) for Georgia and Ukraine. Gus, who is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee's Subcommittee on Europe, co-sponsored the resolution and supported its passage.

On several occasions, Gus has met with officials from the Ukrainian government, including Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States, on the strategic necessity for the United States to support Ukraine's NATO MAP.

Because right now the skies over the Ukraine are sort of deadly for anything not terrain masking. And you ever try to terrain mask in a wheat field?
That, and the fact that an A-10 is about as stealthy as a couple dozen of those radar reflectors they use on sailboats daisy chained together…

Right lol, the slow POS. No offense to any a-10 dudes, but the hog should have been retired 30 years ago.

Nope. But I know how easy it is to lock up an A-10 on radar.

Apples to oranges in a range of spectrums as well as a whole slew of variables;

But IIRC, in the Fulda Gap scenarios, the A-10 had the shortest life expectancy.

Syria with a Caucasian face. A gratuitous slap in the face for western Europe, NATO and the tired satire calling itself United Nations. Not that a Chinese Communist Party gives a crap. Business is business. Where do you find those capable of launching a scud into a building full of sleeping poor people? Anywhere for a pouch of silver since 30 AD.
