quietest and loudest JET flight decks??

Fire away!!
For my own hearing's sake:
quietest to loudest from my own experience...

Quietest:
1. MD-80
2. 777
3. 757

Loudest:
1. Emb 145
2. CRJ
3. 737

Anyone else think the 80 is quieter than the 777 or am i already too deaf to really tell???

Ok, stupid question #123456:

Once one finally makes it to the front seat, does anyone give a rat's posterior which headset one uses? I have too many deaf and hard of hearing old pilot friends to not use a headset.

Thanks!

if you are in a quiet jet, the one that is the most comfortable.

Some guys even just wear an earpiece like you would have from your ipod and use the jet's hand held mic. but that wont work in the louder jets like emb.'s and crjs.

The Citation is the loudest jet cockpit that I've been in so far. (Louder than the CRJ or ERJ or 737 based on my experiences). The sound noise at FL400 is about the equivalent of the CRJ at 10000' and 300 KIAS, due to the big bleed air ducts that provide windshield deice/anti-ice.

The seabee isn't exactly a cricket.

I obviously haven't flown the real thing but I once had the privlege to jumpseat on a 727, which I found to be rather loud. Especially when we went through some heavy rain. The wipers made an awful racket too.

I haven't JS on the 777 or MD80 but the EMB175 is a quiet bird. More so than the 737.

It's always quiter in the JS, you're further away from the windshields and usually the AC plumbing.

Had a jumpseater the other day tell me his 777 is quieter than my MD-80. Really? Anyone? If so, I'm surprised.

I thought the 777 was the quietest of any airliner flight deck and the EMB 145 piece of junk was the loudest (with the exception of MOST turboprops).

The Hawker 800XP has the quietest cockpit I have ever been in.
