Barry Bonds
Last night Barry Bonds broke the record of home runs. What should be done concerning all the controversy? Anyone care to chime in?
|
I was watching a game the other day and they interviewed John Luvitz. yes yes i know. but he said something that kind of made me think about it. an absurd number of major leaguers use steroids, something like 40%. obviously 40% of the players have not had a substantial increase in performance to where its noticeable... Barry is still and has always been an amazing player, he hit 756 home runs regardless, thats still an amazing feet.

In my opinion, judgement should be witheld pending the investigation... And if 40% of baseball players used steroids, doesn't that mean that some of the pichers he hit home runs off of were also on steroids? Hmm, something to ponder. For now, I say good for him, and congrats. If something comes out later, I will chance my stance.

Babe Ruth 714 HR
Hank Aaron 755 HR Barry Bonds 756 HR* |
For the next 20 years Bonds will swear he didn't use steroids while everyone knows he did. Bonds and Rose both belong in Cooperstown. Put their bronze busts in the hall of fame parking lot looking in wards toward the building.
Nuff Said. |
If he was playing against other players on 'roids, and pitchers on 'roids, that is something of an equalizer. That said, my issue with Bonds is that he is an ass, not his roid issues.
Never thought I would become a big A-rod fan...but I hope he stays healthy - he has over 100 bombs compared to Bar-roid at the same age. |
I say don't do anything special for Bonds. Bonds holding the MLB career home run record will be a scar MLB will have to carry for their inexcusably poor drug testing program in the past decades.
What gives me some inner peace is knowing that Barry Bonds will never have a World Series ring to wear on his finger. Records can be broken, a World Series ring is yours forever. |
all true. barry bonds is juicing...we all know it. many other people are doing the same...we all know it. we should not let those over paid whinney babies drag america's favorite past time through the mud like this. the NBA is in enough controversy for our entire country's sports.
great baseball players should be praised. but the ones who take short cuts, and cheat, and lie about it should be thrown out. i dont care if he hits 1000 freakin HRs in one game. I'll guarentee you that Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron were NOT on the juice. |

-Ben I agree...judgement should be withheld until all the facts comeout. There must be a good explination. 19862115041372921648651020.41619872215055199144255954880.49219882314453897152245872820.49119892415958096144195893930.4261990251515191041563311493830.5651991261535109514925116107730.51419922714047310914734103127690.62419932815953912918146123126790.67719942911239189122378174430.64719953014450610914933104120830.57719963115851712215942129151760.61519973215953212315540101148870.58519983315655212016737122130920.6091999341023559193348373620.61720003514348012914749106117770.68820013615347612915673137177930.86320023714340311714946110198470.7992003381303901111334590148580.74920043914737312913545101232410.8122005401442812510960.66720064113036774992677115510.545200742832235064204895380.587 |
