What airlines fly the 747?

I've always wanted to fly the 747, and I was curious to know which airlines fly it. As far as I know, Delta and Northwest fly it. I was on CAL's website yesterday, and I could've sworn they flew it, but their website says otherwise. I've heard that United has flown it, but I'm not sure that they still do. I don't think Northwest or American Airlines have ever flown it.

I love that plane. Especially the brand new 800 series.

I think that you paid too much for your ERAU degree.

Majors that do: NW, UAL
Majors that dont: DAL, CAL, AA

There is a whole crap load of cargo outfits that fly various versions of the 74. The -800 does not exist yet.

Dude,

Check your facts, this post sounds like it was written by a 6th grader, sounds like you were doing more partying at ERAU than studying.

If ERAU checks you out in the time machine then all of them (CAL, NWA, DAL, AAL, UAL and a few others like TWA ) once flew the 747.

I've only been at Riddle for about 2 weeks, I don't plan on returning next semester because of the cost. That's still 11,000 wasted, but that's better than 120,000 for the whole 4 or 5 years.

Yes, the 800 version doesn't exist, but I've seen pictures of what it will look like on Boeing's site.

Good Plan!

And don't forget Pan Am! The 747 (originally designed as an Air Force cargo plan but lost the competition to the C-5) was modified per Juan Tripp's specifications to become the airplane it is. Pan Am operated a lot of them, and where the launch customer IIRC.

Most airlines dumped the 747 because of costs. It doesn't make money like something like a 777 does. The same thing happend to the DC-10/MD-11's. CAL dumped them prior to 9/11, many others dumped some or all of thiers after 9/11. I never got to fly one, but I've flown with many guys who did and loved it. I'm looking forward to flying the 777, 787, and I'm sure they'll have a 797 before I retire. :D Too bad I'm going back to the 737. :(

Yeah, by the time I have the qualifications to fly a 747, something will probably be out that makes the 380 look puny.
