The Pilot Personality
I just read this article on the APC main page.. If I had to find a way to describe myself this article is 100% accurate...

Wow... my fiancee would agree with that as well...
"Why can't you just talk about your feelings?" "Because I don't know what they are!" |
glad to hear im not the only emotionless brick out there....

Haha I'm not good at fixing things or taking things apart. While I use rationale and try to be practical in daily life tasks, my mind is often very philosophical, and I don't judge a book by it's cover...I agree with some of the aspects of the 2nd half of the article such as unwillingness to accept failure and to try and achieve near perfection in the execution of a flight but for the most part I think these are just a lot of generalizations...from all the pilots I've met I've found they are all different in everything they do and how they live their lives...Then again before I bicker and analyze anymore about it, the tone of the article seems pretty relaxed and probably shouldn't be taken too seriously as I don't think that was the author's intention...

Now, before you guys start shooting the poison-tipped arrows at me, let me say that I have personal, intimate, direct, non-hearsay knowledge of this. The author forgot to mention one genetic trait common in many old fighter pilots - "Legend In His Own Mind." ;)
Gimme a Hornet guy anytime! |
