I love the iPhone UI although I wouldn't buy one because of the closed system - no apps, no freedom to choose your own network, and now the iBrick

I agree w/you HSLD. Plus, look how long it took to download a map via the EDGE network. Slooooooowwww.

Still, a smart phone worth keeping an eye on...

One thing for sure, they'll only get better! For a 1st generation iPhone, there is a LOT there but I think the market will drive an open platform. Either Aplle gets on board with what the majority of users want, or there will be a alternative (like the new LG phone).

This is the smartphone I just bought, HSLD. Blackberry Curve from AT&T. I installed an iPhone skin on it, so the screen looks like an iPhone...

Does it win your approval? :)

Does it need too? :) Please check with me before your next purchase, it will make life easier on both of us :)

Looks like a cool phone for sure, I'd love to see it. Like I said before, I like the iPhone, although for me, I'd need a phone that had an open architecture that allows 3rd party apps to run AND that would let me choose my own network provider. For the consumer, I think that there will be a rush of products to fill that void and ultimately the consumer will win.

That said, Apple deserves credit for taking cell phones to the next step in hardware evolution.
