They also turn up regularly on some insipid aviation security podcast talking about how tough it is to ensure the security of the flying public. I deleted that podcast in a jiffy after listening to some lame explanation of how making cross-border flights submit a passenger manifest an hour before wheels up was critical to said security. I tuned out, threw my shampoo bottle into my laptop bag, and walked shoeless past the same surly sleepers I see every trip out of [airport deleted for security reasons]. It's the small victories that make life worth living

They should have their own events at the Special Olympics. I deal with these people a lot as a frequent business flyer - I do not feel safer with them on the job.

Here's an excerpt:
Dear Blog,
Today, some jerk with a "Student Driver" sticker cursed at me for wanding a uniformed soldier. Then, when I asked where his boarding pass was, he said, "Where's yours?" I don't understand why he didn't like me.

Me neither. Focus is in the wrong area.

Am I not allowed to ask a question to them on there? I want to know why we go through more security checks than most and aren't allowed to go through unless we have completed the FFDO program.
