Default Men's Messenger Bag

I was thinking of getting my engineer brother-in-law a leather messenger bag for his birthday this year, but my sister sent me an email that the bag I had in mind would make her husband look gay. Now this bag is the Cole Haan Dress Penny Flat Messenger Bag that retails for nearly $350, and not some El Cheapie model from WalMart (where many of you have been buying your watches that can show zulu time, which is something I still can't tell, but that's another story for another time, since I still can't seem to takeoff and land properly, but that also is another story in itself).

So, anybody here carry a leather messenger bag? Does it make you look gay? I can't believe it does, but what do I know? FWIW, my husband was more concerned about the price than how it would look.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Queer as a three dollar Bill.

But I drive a hemi and fly a Boeing so thats just me. Plus, all the engineers that I went to school with are not exactly fashionable.

It's not a purse, it's a men's carry-all. He can use it while wearing the bro...

Classic - had milk shoot out of my nose. Although you are wrong - it isn't a bro, it is a manziere.

I did a google search for your bag vega. If you'll notice on the same page there are also women's boots and high heels. I'd say it's settled.

I do not understand what you would carry in a messenger bag? Lipstick? I figure if it will not fit in my pockets I do not need it. Work stuff goes in a briefcase or laptop bag. Seriously - what accessesories do men carry that would require a messenger bag?

By any other name it still sounds like a purse. If he enjoys carrying a purse then maybe he'll like it. And yes he will look gay.
