Something odd in the rearview mirror
 

This airplane had to make an emergency landing on a highway near Indianapolis. The pilot made some quick repairs and took off again after the police cleared the high way. Makes me wonder what the call to ATC sounded like. "Piper N12345, requesting takeoff from I-82 East."

It was actually I-70 in Indy, just west of IND. I saw the interview he did on the local news. Said he lost his engine @ 7000'. I'm thinking he ran the tanks dry since he took back off again.
