Cessna 206?

I'm trying to get a bit of flight time in a 206 for some bush flying in Africa, but can't seem to find a good place to get five hours of time in one....

Does anyone know a place around Seattle or Memphis where a 206 is available for rental, training, etc? All I need is five hours for the apparent 'type rating' they speak of in Africa.

You could join one of the missionary flight programs. The have flight schools that train in Cessna 206 and 185, but you must pass the entry requirements. I know of one in Spokane at Flets Field.

The CAP has 206's in Washington.

Pavco in Tacoma Narrows also has a 206 they list as "charter only" but i bet you can get an instructor to go with you for 5 hours or so. http://www.flypavco.com/rental.html

My flight school has a 206, I believe 2004, as a rental if your interested in traveling to Boise. Garmin G1000 suite. Beautiful a/c.

thanks yall, I appreciate it. It really streamlines the hiring process in Africa to have some 206 time. I'll give them a ring tomorrow.

A lot of drop zones fly old 206's, I have about 200 hours in a beater 206 from my old skydiving center I flew for. Check with your local DZ, they might let you fly a weekend or two to get some time.

The 206 is nice, it's my favorite light Cessna. You'll like it. Be safe in Africa

Yeah I was over in Maun, Botswana and did a bit of flying in one. To me, I couldn't tell much of a difference in it and a 182. Unfortunately, the Republic of Botswana thinks differently....

The DZ idea sounds good, I'll check that out.

Skydive Snohomish has a T206, call and ask for Tyson, he's the owner. Regal Air at KPAE has a new T206 G1000 with all the bells and whistles, take your pick.
