Bose QC2 Headset

A while back while jumpseating I came across a FO that used a Bose headset and he had found a company on the web that sold the attached boom mic to go with the headset. I wrote down the website but has since lost it.

Does anyone know who sells the attached boom mic or where I might be able to buy one. Thanks!

Tso

According to the website there is no specific FAA requirement for a headset to be TSO, AND they are working on TSO certification anyway.

FOM has the requirement.

I sometimes put on my QC3's at altitude when the speaker is on. I use the hand mike and have no problem hearing the captain or the speaker.

True, but I think when PilotFrog says there is no FAA requirement for TSO certification he is referring to a lack of specific requirements for a headset to be considered TSO certified. The TSO certification process seems to be just a paper drill sort of like our Restricted Radio Operator Permits.

It will never be TSO'd because it needs a battery to work. If the battery dies, so does your headset. I wish bose would design a lighter headset for us, but until they do I'll keep on using the Bose X. It's approved, and you get awesome customer support. My last problem was fixed with a one day turn. Sent it in on Wed, got it back Friday. Don't think you will get that with the QC-2/3.

Web site says "Now TSO'd" they have a "newer" mike, maybe they finally are.
