What type of wrist watches are you guys wearing?
My dad has always said that every pilot should wear a watch, and at my young age I never believed him, but he was right. He wears a Breitling that American Airlines pilots got a deal on, and I am in love with his, but do not have that much money for a watch lol. So what are some good watches for aviators? Thanks!

Aside from his other comments, this fella pretty well sums up the requirements for pilots and their watches.
BTW, I can't wait to see this film (clip is from Speed and Angels).

As for my flying watch, I have an inexpensive Timex digital watch with a velcro strap and a big easy to read display. I keep it on 24 hour time. I love it. Im not worried about it getting scratched or beaten up. Unlike my other watch....
The Citizen Skyhawk Blue Angels watch. It's a pretty snazzy watch, but a bit cumbersome (I have steel, not titanium bracelet). I'm also super paranoid about scratching the bracelet so I tend to not where it while I fly.

I gather from your post that you've already ruled out a Breitling, and I admit, they are pricey, but I've got to throw my 2 cents in...
I bought a Breitling Aerospace with the money I earned from my first jet job back in 1999. It is by far, the best purchase I've ever made. I literally wear it 24-7. (I wear glasses, so it's the only way I can tell the time when I can't see the clock!!!) It's made of titanium, and after 9 years of that kind of wear and tear, it doesn't have a single scratch, nick, ding, etc.
It keeps PERFECT time (I set it to our ACARS clock, and I only have to reset it after I get the battery changed). It's good down to 100 meters, so you can take it scuba diving, and if you don't want the titanium bracelet, you can replace it with a black rubber dive band for a more sporty look. The hands glow in the dark, and if that's not enough for you, it will "beep" the time out for you, so you can "hear" the time if you can't see it!
You can set 3 different time zones on it, it has the day and date, as well as a stopwatch, timer and alarm. I just used it the other day in the Sim when I forgot to start the cockpit clock on a non-precision approach, and I knew how to start my Breitling's stopwatch faster than I could figure out my new airplane's clock!
My absolute favorite feature that I cannot live without is the rotating bezel. I can set it to our departure time, EFC time, etc and because it has 15 minute points on it, I can easily see when 15, 30 or 45 minutes has elapsed, which is awesome for holding and fuel planning. I use that for everything, and the thought of going back to a regular watch is inconceivable to me.
Personally, I'd scout out eBay for a used Breitling. Depending on just how much abuse the previous owner put it through, you may need to replace the bracelet, but I bet the watch itself will be in perfect condition...
Just my 2 cents.

The guy in the video summed it up nicely.
I wear a watch that tells time, thats all I need. And really, not even that much. When I'm at work there are so many freaking clocks I don't need my own. The airplane's, the FMS, my phone, the FO's watch, the one in the hotel, etc.
Whenever I'm home on my off time I don't even bother to wear one.
The watch I have that I'm the most proud of I won't even wear because it's worth too much. A Bulova Accutron Astonaut model 214 that my dad gave me.

I have an $8 digital from walmart. Has day, date, stopwatch, and light. I keep it on UTC. For local time I use my cell phone.
I used to be real gung-ho and spent about $30 on one that two time zones (local and UTC).
My advice: buy a cheap watch and spend the $3000 you save over a Breitling for 10-20 hot dates (a watch may break, but a great weekend is a lifetime of memories )
