Big Brother, Getting Banned, Cruise Line
Reading this article has prompted me to share it with the group and remind everyone, once again, to be careful what and how we post. APC and its ever vigilant mods are not the only people reading. If Royal Carribean reads internet boards on the lookout for negative press, I am sure every single airline is combing through this board as well, looking for not only negative stuff, but also the prevailing sentiment of its pilot group and perhaps even the identity of individuals. We already know that the media has helped itself to posts, citing at least two APC members (hey, you guys enjoyed your 15 minutes of fame? 
).
On a more personal note, I wonder if any airline would ban some of us for saying less than flattering things about it? But then I am not as annoying as the Morans in the article. Phew. Thank goodness for my self-restraint gene.

Cleveland residents Brenda and Gerald Moran are experienced cruisers and big fans of Royal Caribbean. They were so happy with the cruise line they averaged two cruises a year for the past three years. They even bought the company’s stock.
Still, the Morans encountered problems on each cruise — everything from a plumbing problem to being locked out of their cabins — which they itemized and detailed in correspondence to the cruise line. Royal Caribbean worked with the couple to solve problems and offered discounts and onboard credits to keep the couple’s business.
Until it decided it no longer wanted the Morans’ business.

I doubt the airlines care in the slightest what the Pax think, or say, about their flying experiences.
Airline employees, however, need to be careful about what they say about their own company....
The constitutional provision for "Free Speech" is widely misunderstood...it is actually very narrow, and all it provides is that the GOVERNMENT, I say again the GOVERNMENT, may not infringe on your right to free speech. Government means any federal, state, territory, or local government.
Free Speech DOES NOT IN ANY WAY apply to:
Your Employer: If you say something publicly that they don't like, they can fire you unless there is some other legal protection (ie whistleblower law).
Private Individuals: You can't say anything you like about people...if you lie, or in some cases say unwarranted harmful things, you can get sued for libel, slander, or harrassment.
Public Figures and Organizations: You have a little more leeway here, but you still can't lie. Good example is companies whose stock price suffers because of information spread by bloggers...a blogger could get sued big-time if he lied about the company, or released confidential info.
Always word things so that it's clear that it's your opinion, that way you avoid getting blamed for spreading false facts. If you know and can prove it's fact, feel free to say so.
