U-2 Aircraft Carrier Operations
March 1964 - CIA pilots became carrier qualified in U-2G models. One operational mission (French Nuclear Tests) was flown off the Ranger in May 1964. The U-2R (Video) was flown off the America Nov 21-23, 1967. One Lockheed test pilot and four CIA pilots were qualifed. No operational missions were conducted.

Compressor Inlet Picture
Doesn't seem like there's much room for any engine accessories? Must be aft of compressor section. Edit: Found some more info, Wiki says it had two Wright J65 turbojets. Looks like a hydromechanical nightmare! :eek: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3601/...286fb8d2e7.jpg |
