FAA website & Temp Airmen Certificate

I received my temporary Commercial Pilot/ Instrument rating certificate near the end of June. Was back in my College and had to sign a new temporary because the date was not included on my first. I was just online trying to see what the FAA has me listed as. So these are my questions:
Can I use the new temporary that I received today for a flying job? (Might be getting a jumping job if the insurance company allows a time waiver)
Should I still keep my older temporary certificate?
How long does it take to get the permanent certificate from the FAA?
Does it matter for a job if the FAA's website still has me listed as a PPL, even though I have a temporary CASELI? Thanks for any info in advance.

I think a temp certificate is good for 120 days from date of issue. Every time I got a new one the inspector or examiner told me to call them if I didnt reciee the permanent copy after 90 days.

Until the temp expires, it is the same as a regular ticket. In other words, you can do everything wit it that you can with a permanent. If your employer retains a copy of your license, which all seem to do, then they will need a copy of the new certificate when it arrives.

I hope this helps.

The temp certificate will work for your FAA and Insurance purposes. If you are looking for a job overseas and they need proof from the FAA of your new certificate your gonna have some issues. I got a new type rating and ATP back in June and still do not have my permenant. I was talking to someone at the FAA the other day on an unrelated topic and when he punched me up in the computer it still only listed a Commercial without the type. Most international companies will contact the FAA for proof. Thats where the issue will arrive.

The actual temp. certificate is the official word on the matter. Even if the website shows you only ppl if the temp says Comm. then that is so. The previous temp. is now invalid so toss it if you want. It will be good for 120 days. If it goes longer which it shouldn't, just go to a local FSDO and they can get you another temp until the permanent one arrives. The temp. should work for anything you need to show your license but as posted earlier you should have to update your work file with a copy of the permanent. It usually takes about two months for mine to come even when I was living in OKC.

Hope this helps.....

Was told that if there are any issues, a call will usualy be made to the faa instead of checking the website. Thanks all!
