Default Drinking age on EU carriers?

What are the rules governing the drinking age on EU carriers? Does the plane need to be out of US airspace, or is it based on the aircraft's country of registration? I'm flying to Europe in October (probably BA or Lufthansa).

Normally they don't care. Where are you going?

Well that's good to hear. I wasn't planning on getting tipsy anyways, because at $7 a bottle I'd be broke like a pilot before I landed .

I'm flying out to Frankfurt to visit one of my uncles.

Are the international carriers charging for beers on a crossing now? Its been a while but I could have sworn it was comped in the cheap seats.

Lufthansa doesn't charge anything for alcoholic beverages! And as far as I know German rules apply as well (not that they would care anyways - it's so normal here to start drinking when your 16 or so).

See you guys on the Oktoberfest! I'll most likely be there too with a few friends!

The Volksfest is much better than Oktoberfest. I've only been to Oktoberfest once but I've been to the Stuttgart fest numerous times. The Dinkel Acker or Greindels biersteube are probably the best tents in Stuttgart. Fewer people, great party, easy access to the trains, and if you get there before 6 PM you should be able to find a table easilly.

The best fests are in the small towns. I went to a firefighters fest near Geibelstadt and that was the best (Same big beers, same funny music, almost exclusivly locals, German chicks, much cheeper). I had at least 3 Liters of beer that night; hurts just thinking about it.

I work in Wiesbaden, if you've never been you will really enjoy the town.
