FWIW: I don't want my children to follow in their fathers foot steps. Also, "love" takes time.....

Yeah, but you never even lived the lifestyle. What makes you think that you enjoy something when it becomes a job and while all your friends and family buy houses you will be living in a crash pad.

Like others have said, how do you know you love it? You haven't even flown for an airline yet! Flying around recreationally or while your training when your young and inexperienced is alot easier and fun than trying to survive in the real world of the airline biz. Unfortunately, we probably all felt the same way before too...

K, you guys are right, I still love airplanes though, and even if the living conditions are most likely going to be crappy and not very favorable, every career is going to have its cons no matter what. But I'm not going to shy away from this career because what if i do end up loving it, or I'll grow up get old and wish that I had at least tried the career only time will tell.

Trainee, sometimes our 'dream job' can suck the joy out of our career. Some find different hobbies, others buy/build and airplane and regain our happiness in general aviation.

If I knew then what I knew now, I'd have never stayed in aviation. That said, I have found a niche where I (more or less) fit in.

If you are wearing blinders, so all you can see is 'the airlines' in your future, then you'll likely have serious doubts in the future.

You go and do what you think is right but just remember this work is catch as catch can and as far as cargo is concerned you have a line a mile long in front of you with fella, s trying to get their foot in the cargo door so to speak.
Another word of advice is to have a BACK UP plan in case things get dicey ,been there done that a long time ago with a carrier that went BK and its not fun to be in that position so take heed with the advice we give you .
Most of all enjoy your training.

This is sound advice...

Never put all of you eggs in a single basket... And never ever count your hatches, before they chicken.
