Hunting

I'm not sure if this needs to be in photos or hobbies. How about we have a few pics of your favorite trophies this season.

9 points, 180 lbs. I know it isn't the biggest whitetail, but they are smaller here in the south. Also, I guess I am just proud because this is the first mountable buck i've gotten. I don't know how, but I snuck (is that how you spell "snuck"?) up on him with a wooded fenceline between us. I was only about 20 yards away. I was shooting a brand new single-shot 25-06. I thought I missed because when I pulled up to shoot, I was looking directly into the sunrise. When I did this, the crosshairs dissapeared. I shot him without any indication of a crosshair, just a wild guess. It took us almost an hour to find him because he left absolutely no blood trail. What a wild morning. I hadn't even gotten to the stand either.

Very nice!
Where in the US did you shoot this one?

Great job! Although, not freezing your butt off in a stand for hours takes away merit points.

Southeastern Oklahoma; As Mrs. Palin would say, "I can see Texas from here!"

I think 180 pounds is a good size anywhere, really. From 20 yards, though, you should have just used a bayonet. Hand to hoof combat!

Seriously, congratulations! Dump that avatar of the control panel and use one of you and the deer.

I live for whitetail hunting. I live just south of GRB and hunt about 40nm west of CWA .

Haven't done shotgun in a few years. Had a close call with some city folk that go up just to shoot and you always find the ones that wanna play Rambo.
Thinking about going 2nd season, so thanks for the incentive. The buck looks like good eatin'!
