I'm from America but I live in South Korea.

I've been to Mexico, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Italy, Greece, France, England, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. I have the traveling bug and am trying to decide where to go on my next vacation. I may hit up SE Asia this winter.

I went to Nicaragua/Honduras once. We were on a mission trip and were traveling up the cocoa river. After a hurricaine that had gone through there all the local tribes had to pick up and move. It was our job to find them and document where they had moved. It really made you think, we always tend to forget how great we have it. As tough as it is to live on a first year FO paycheck is it would still be royalty out there. I'll see if I can stir up any pics.

I would second this notion about how good it is here (hopefully we'll keep it like that)... and how bad it is in Honduras (good diving there though!)and the rest of Central America. All of Western Europe is pretty much on par with the US as far as living goes... jump across the old wall and venture further into Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, etc... you'll see what living under communism was like. I will never forget my experience there...it is frustrating to come back to America and deal with idealists who have never ventured out of the country.

Perhaps the nicest European country would have to be Switzerland, if any go... I'd recommend a little town called Interlaken...one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Very true. We spent a couple days there in late August, then went up the valley to Lauterbrunnen for 5 days. Right below the Jungfrau, with a cable car going up one side of the valley (Murren, Gimmelwald), and a cog rail going up the other side (Wengen, Grindelwald, Jungfraujoch). Hikers' paradise. Recommend Hotel Lotschberg in Interlaken and Hotel Silberhorn in Lauterbrunnen (they have websites). Suggest going in spring or fall to avoid crowds, and get a SwissPass.
