Anybody with suggestions/tips for a ticket I received doing 61 in a 45 in Louisville, KY? Got it several days ago whilst enroute to a 0130 call-out on RSVA...on Hurstbourne/Fern Valley. I was running late.
Should I just pay the ticket?

Go to court. Say you're sorry.
You'll probably pay court costs, and nothing will go on your record. Perhaps you'll be offered traffic school in exchange for putting nothing on your record. Worst case, you'll pay the fine and it WILL go on your record.
Regardless of the outcome, learn your lesson - - slow down.

Many states have what "deals" such as Tony mentioned. If possible, you might get it reduced to below 15 MPH over- the 15 MPH "cutoff" can really hurt you. Look into it. There are resources on the web.

Tony is right- at worst you are out a night of your life and guilty anyway- kind of like going to the bar with boys!
Good luck.

Don't miss court no matter what you do. Failure To Appear FTA is MUCH worse than the speeding tix.
I've fought and won 3 of 6 tix in my life. One based on the fact that it was safe to drive that fast for the conditions, one because the cop did not show, and one because the judge believed some **** and bull story about me speeding up to avoid a road rage car behind me and that I slowed down as soon as I got out of the way. I could not believe he bought it but it was late Friday and he probably was going on a "date" that night. Works for me!

I remember once when I had a student who was a lawyer and he told me to ask in court for a calibration check of the radar gun. Supposedly there is no such thing and they have to throw out the case. Wonder if there are any lawyers here to confirm if this can be done. Only spoke to him briefly about it so im not really sure what he was talking about.
