APC search function question

Anyone know how the heck to get this search engine to search for ALL terms in the dialog box? I've tried:

AND
+
&
"[search terms]"
term1-term2

...to no avail.

key word search problem

Good question. Here's another- why is the Key Word search function so unreliable?

Ok I'll give an example. There exists the following thread in the Member Intros section that I posted about two years ago:

But when you run a key word search, you get:

And we wonder why certain topics generate new threads every two weeks...

Cubdriver, what's this about "child forums?"

Guess it's the forums stacked under a larger category of forums

I think the software package APC uses is from vBulletin, and the search engine and its functions are theirs as well. Who knows what a child forum is unless it is a forum for kids? Or is it a technical term, I do not know.

As far as the unreliability of it, it worked well prior to the approximate time of the server change earlier this year (earlier in 2008) and I would hypothesize that has something to do with it. Maybe the user content was never indexed properly for the search engine to see because it obviously has it.

Use the Google search in the upper left it's fully indexed, as noted the vBulletin search feature is not as robust.

Google search in the upper left hand corner it is from now on, HSLD. Thanks!
