Default Air Tran Incident

I see the mod closed the other thread on this topic, understandably judging from the hysteria of a few posters. I've read several media accounts of this incident and it seems to me like everyone followed procedure. The conversation was overheard by two TEENAGE GIRLS who told their parents who told the FAs who told the FAMs who told the Captain. This is life in a post 9/11 world, GET OVER IT. You want to talk about racial profiling? I was told for months by several "experts" that the DC sniper was most certainly a white paramilitary Timothy McVeigh "militia" type. Are those FBI profilers guilty of civil rights violations for stereotyping whites? Get over yourselves people. It was not Scandinavians who flew in to the side of those buildings it was Arabs. Maybe in the Hollywood version of 9/11 the bad guys would be evil Russian gangsters or something more palatable but unfortunately we live in the real world with real bad guys who like to carry out attacks in the name of Islam. If that reality doesn't fit in a nice tidy little PC box too ####### bad.

No banning please. It's a heated topic which many of us have trouble with sometimes. Thank you.

edit- I responded to this because I saw a recommendation on the 2nd posters reply that the OP be banned immediately after the OP went up, which i don't think the OP warrants. Thanks.

"Why? What is this violating? Last I checked people can say what they want."

TOS excerpt:

"There are currently NO forums that provide a venue for discussing politics or religion."

If this turns into religious bashing, infractions will be given out for TOS violations and the thread will be locked. Keep it respectable and in line with TOS. Moved to hangar talk as it's not really about Air Tran...

Thanks de727UPS for giving this a go. Brave. I hope we can all agree that as Aviators we can be on the "tip of the spear" on this one. As said before, by people much smarter than me, we must preserve liberty while remaining vigilant.

Thanks mod for not caving in to the PC police on this one. This looks to me like somebody trying to shake down an airline for cash as soon as I read that the guy was a lawyer it immediately threw all kinds of red flags in my mind. The press is always looking for a scandal and it's a much better story when the airline is the bad guy than a headline that reads "airline reacts to report of suspicious behavior from passengers and has Muslim family removed from plane". Not nearly as sensational but probably a lot closer to what really happened.. a few passengers overreacting.. end of story. Barely newsworthy IMO.

All good points except this country is run by lawyers and ACLU lawyers in particular. Common sense means absolutely nothing to them because their socialistic madrassas knows as Yale, Harvard, etc... taught them to be ashamed of this country. So they hope to weaken this country as much as they can thinking that if no one fears us one day some of our enemies might actually like us...

Political correctness does not abate but rather reinforces racism.

Quislings of the World Unite!

(and I apologize to all descendants of Vidkun Quisling for comparing him to ACLU lawyers... after all, in a deranged way he actually did love his home country)

And God rest his soul Kilgore. But the reality of the world that we live in is that the American public will forever remember the tragedy of 9/11 (thousands of innocent civilians) and the people responsible for that.

Public opinion runs the country (look at the last election), it is what it is. To those who have issue with racial profiling, I'll quote the original poster "get over it"....it's the vision they created.

Rant over....Go Pats!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait..........never mind.
