I fly an aircraft from the cockpit.
A flight deck is something some friends of mine in the navy land on. It moves, pitches up and down, and rolls from side to side.
The lawyers have gone too far with book censorship in a feeble attempt to not offend anyone in this politically correct era IMHO.

I'm a chick, I call it a cockpit, gotta have thick skin to be successful in this profession, regardless of gender. and if something like that offends you or threatens your femininity, well, perhaps you have other issues.
