Gross Restaurant/Fast Food Stories

I was just reading this article and managed to gross myself out. It also brought back memories of my late brother-in-law whose family ran a Chinese restaurant in California back in the 1980s. He is famous for telling everyone never to order fried rice at any Chinese restaurant because fried rice is made from the leftover rice of patrons from the night before.

When I was in Prague, we got very hungry at about 2 pm and went looking for a restaurant. The only thing we could find was a place that inexplicably had a pole in the center of the room. The "chef" appeared to have not cooked a meal in his career. Since we could not read Czech, we ordered something simple - burgers and fries. I went into the "kitchen" when no food was ready after waiting 45 minutes. There, the "chef" was smoking and picking his nose.

On another occasion, we ordered Vietnamese sandwiches at this place in Seattle's Chinatown. The owner picked up the sliced meats, smelled it, then proclaimed "this is still ok, don't need to throw out yet."

"A Big Mac, Fries, and a diet coke."

And we wonder why America is so fat. I have no sympathy for fat people, (yes I call them fat, not obese, not overweight, FAT)

When I was a part time instructor I worked at a restaurant, here is my story.

A table of two is sat in my section. They start with a HUGE deep fried onion (3200 calories) and finish it, then they each order a chicken fried steak with extra gravy (2900 calories w/o the extra gravy), they finish it off with a chocolate cake and ice cream dessert (1900 calories). Beverage of choice for their 8000 calorie meal...

DIET COKE!!!!!

I don't get it.

Whenever I go to Sea World, I always skip the Fish Sandwich.

I think it's the "poor performers".

I think the same thing when I eat seafood at a restaurant with fish tanks.

I was traveling with my wife and 3 young (at the time) kids. After hours of driving we stopped in a rural area and parked at Wendys. We were all VERY hungry. I went into the men's room and visible on the floor in the stall were two legs and a Wendy's worker's apron laid flat on the floor. I immediately did a 180, met my wife and said, "we are NOT eating here". Anyone who knows my wife will tell you she has a mind of her own, but based on my tone of voice, and perhaps the look on my face, she just looked at the kids and said, "get in the car." Gross.

Iam not surprised! What do you think the Mcrib is about? It's meat that they cover up with "barbecue" sauce from the yesterdays left overs! yummo!

Uh, are you seriously dissing the McDonalds McRib sandwich? That thing is awesome. I could eat three at one sitting. With fries and a regular Coke!

Here's a link for other McRib fans. McRib Locator

Not dissing it, just expressing my opinion of where and how the mcrib came about! I don't eat meat so I cannot comment on how great it tastes!

Next time order the special mcrib, I believe it comes with a triple bypass on the side...:D
