So Cal Wildfires
 

It's that time of year again. This was from taken my upstairs bedroom window. The fire seen in the photo -just over the roof-line of my neighbor's house- is 25 miles away.

While going through the Internet reading about this latest bunch, I came across this .pdf file of Firefighting aircraft which I found interesting.

Everything well North of me this time and no Santa Ana winds, but that said, makes it hard to make the water drops because the smoke is directly overhead.

I don't believe that it is affecting LAX operations, at least as of yet.

That Evergreen 747 always amazes me. I would love to get a job flying...or just a tour of the inside. Must be a real kick dumping that much weight out of the back.

Now up to 45,000 Acres. Taken this afternoon.

Also, sadly, two Firefighters lost their lives today. This evening, the ridge-line around Mount Wilson is outlined in fire. Clearly seen, and I'm 25 miles away. Mount Wilson is where all of the Local TV an Radio stations antenna are located. Helicopter Drops still ongoing into the evening.
