HELP xmas day travel!!!

Here’s the situation, my current company is trying to make arrangements to fly me from Sacramento CA to Columbus GA on xmas day!!! Due to the fact I that I have to go to Fort Benning for about a week for some certain “things”, shots, gear, etc. My question is what is the best way to get out of economy class and up to business or first, I don’t mind paying (xmas gift to myself), but is there an easy way to accomplish this?

What "company" would make you travel to columbus on Xmas??? Only the DoD comes to mind...

If you are on a DoD ticket I do not think they are allowed to upgrade you, even if you pay. If you are military, you might get a complimentary (or volunteer) upgrade without even asking, especially on xmas.

If you are not on a government ticket many airlines will offer upgrades at the gate for $50-$150...but only if there are seats available in 1C.

But since it is xmas, I would ask the gate agent anyway...they might be in the holiday spirit.

If you're going to jump school, have fun and keep your feet and knees together. If you're going to ranger school...sucks to be you, eat a large meal on xmas.

No jump or ranger school, and its a private company that is sending me, lets just say im contracting.

Ill definetly talk to the agents, i was thinking see's candy could go a long way, or folding a bill into my passport and hand it to them.

We will see
