How's Your Driving Record?

I have a theory that pilots make better drivers on the road due to better situation awareness, multi tasking abilities, knowing how your vehicles will react, and so on.

It a quick poll, there should be more options, I know...but this is just to get a general idea as to how 'we' are on the road...

(And yeah. Im talking past 5 years. Thats the number everyone cares about...)

Squeaky clean! No accidents, tickets or anything else for that matter. <knocks on wood...> :D

2 speeding tickets, that's it

I busted my a$$ for years to buy my first Porsche 911. I drove it how it was meant to be driven, and that's not 60mph. The tickets were an unfortunate byproduct of this, but never has it been an interview issue - and in fact elicited some good laughs when I was hired at CAL.

Don't get in accidents and don't drink and drive. I would worry more about that than the speeding tickets. Just my opinion.

What kinda time frame are we talking here... past 5 years... past 7 years... or whole life?:D

I assumed he meant the last 5 years when I answered the poll, not sure why I assumed that. Almost no agency or company cares about the entire thing and even the DMV drops points over time.

I've never had a ticket. (I'm 23) I owned a 13 sec. '94 Mustang Cobra in high school and have owned 3 sportbikes. There is a time and a place to do dumb things just not on public roads with lots of traffic.

This.

Unfortunately, I learned that after having a few tickets already. And I'm sure I'll continue to get tickets now and again. No accidents though. Only thing on my record I worry about is a negligent driving infraction. I didn't know enough to hire an attorney, who would have told me to fight it. I just paid it and got it reduced. (ugh!).

For the record, I wasn't being (too) stupid. Rear end got loose on me accidentally while doing a u-turn, and instead of panicking and ending up facing traffic, I drifted through it and continued on my merry way. Apparently the cop didn't like it too much though :(

Other tickets are just random 10mph over. Two of them in the same night when my speedometer broke.
