Favorite Winter Olympic Events

I have a particular fondness for curling and mixed double luge.

Ice hockey is also interesting. Something about men with missing teeth. :)

I always enjoy the skiing/snowboarding events.:)

I wish they would bring in sno-cross though.

I'm an all around fan of ice hockey but during the Olympics I usually watch curling. It really becomes an exciting sport after a few beers :D

Curling.........

Globerunner513 02-01-2010 11:08 AM

I'm a curling fan as well. And most skiing/snowboarding events. Especially the Super pipe.

Also love a good came of Ice Hockey
Top Gear winter olympics: Suzuki Ice Hockey

Biathlon. Can't figure out why it's not more popular in the US, you get to shoot stuff.

Ok, fellow curling fans! Here is the schedule. Curling events begin on February 16, so plenty of time to get warmed up and excited!

Ski Jumping is always fun to watch, I must admit I have grown to appreciate the "frantic" ice scraping in curling.

My favorite event is the closing ceremony because that would mean that the Winters Olympics are over !!

The Olympics were awesome during the Cold War when there was a higher significance to beating the snot out of a Red or Communist Country. Now, who cares? It is just another complete waste of money and bad monopoly of TV time.

Finally, I'll be happy when the games are over so that the Weather Channel can stop telling me for hours how difficult it is to forecast in Vancouver, and start getting back to what they do best, showing stupid commercials.

Dont worry they will be over soon, then you can get back to watching "Days of our Lives" with my wife:D. I know secretly mens ice skating is your favorite.

I have been entranced watching curling the past few Olympics.

I still have happy memories of watching the US Hockey team win those incredible victories in 1980.

Have a bit of a snow problem up there do they ?

What an exciting curling final for the women! Sweden defended the gold medal by beating Canada. The Canadian men play Norway on Saturday.

Meantime, Canada is leading Slovakia in hockey. Looks like a good gold medal game on Sunday, eh?

Would be even better if Sweden was in it

Bobsled, Skeleton and Luge. If it's 130km/h+, I like it! :D

To all my APC Canadian friends,

I have a feeling that the US will beat the puck and sticks out of you in tomorrow's gold medal game. If I am wrong, every Canuck (in good standing on APC, that is) who comes into my coffee shop and say "eh" will get a free 12 oz hazelnut latte. :)

That may just make the drive down worth it. :)

I grew up in a country where, if it snowed at all, you can be damn sure it's also the end of the world so better get the kids and in-laws into the bomb shelter. So watching men pushing a puck around with strange looking sticks has been very interesting.

Congratulations to my friends in the Great White North. Well played.

MrPlow, I'll see you in my shop!

Its all about hockey. Everything else is B.S.

Photon 02-28-2010 03:28 PM

Well, since I am from Norway, anything that involves skis ! :)

Autopilot 03-01-2010 01:22 PM

I like watching ski jumping for some strange reason.

Silver 03-04-2010 11:20 PM

My favorite one is the ski jumping part. It kind of like flying with an airplane except this time, they were using their body to adapt to the air. I thought that was really interesting.
