I don't buy Travelpro anymore. I had two bags break in a row. The second one was only a month old. They wanted me to mail it to them to get fixed and they refused to give me a loaner bag while mine was getting repaired. I would have had to get by without a bag for a month! I was very unimpressed with their quality and customer service. This was a couple of years ago, though, and maybe things have changed since then.

I have 20 years in this industry. 5 with a Travelpro, and 15 with two PNS, still have both Neat bags. There is no substitute

Default Recent user reports TravelPro FlightCrew 3?

I also stopped using TravelPro over 10 years ago.

Like others here, I was satisfied with the Costco roll aboard type luggage, expecially considering the easy return policy, however they have switched to a style that lacks a flight (or accessory) bag hook. It's light, and a fairly decent suitcase. But not quite enough space, and no hook. Actually, to Costco's credit, you get 2 bags for the price of one. The smaller 21" is the one most of us would use, the larger 27" bag is for your family vacation (smaller one actually fits inside of larger bag).

Purdy Neat is very popular, but it appears to be a weightlifting exercise everytime you lift it up onto the security xray belt. Googled Purdy Neat suitcase, and get www.luggageworksonline.com.

LuggageWorks Stealth 22
The Stealth NG Pilot Bag is an enhanced version of our original metal frame Stealth Bag and offers a combination of durability and functionality as well as first class looks. The Stealth NG comes with two front pockets, three side pockets and two back pockets. Internally, a shirt shelf and a movable divider are provided. Enhancements include a stainless steel retractable handle, redesigned top and bottom casting and modified zippers. As before, the handle extends to a comfortable height,, and we continue to use top quality sealed bearing in-line skate wheels. It also features our innovative attachment system.
H-22" x W-14" x D-8" 14.6 lbs.

The Travelpro FlightCrew 3, 22" rollaboard, at 9.8lbs could very well save my back.

Another choice might be strongbags (www.strongbags.com). Anyone use this one?

I still hesitate to go with TravelPro, considering my previous negative experiences. Furthermore, they don't appear to include the hook with the FlightCrew 3, as there is a additonal category, FlightCrew 2, i.e., the hook (two different types), at $11.99. Their website doesn't allow the various viewing options like the the competition. Might be a worthwhile investment in their business to enhance their sales area, but wtfdik.

My choice eventually will be based on quality, functionality, and user testimonials. Cost, my complaint on the extra charge for TravelPro's hook notwithstanding, is barely a secondary consideration. I hope to make this the last suitcase I buy for work.

Two years since Cycle Pilot had his negative experience. Anyone else?

ebags has some good pilot bags. They have a pretty good crew discount. I have had one for almost 8 years now and it still works like new. Replaced the wheels a little while ago, they sell a kit. It takes about 2 minutes to replace them.

My PNT is coming apart at the upper seams and I only have had it for four years. My zippers have all been ripped off. What does a facelift cost nowadays?

If you want a detachable bag hook, try this;

So it sounds like most people on here like the Pretty Neat bag? Where is the cheapest place to get them?

And this is what I'm afraid of. A bag that expensive should not have zippers fall apart after four years. Wouldn't that be covered under warranty?

Cool! That's exactly what I was looking for. Since I'm on reserve, I'd use the bag without the hook a heck of a lot more than I would with the hook. It would be nice to detach it.

Default Ebags

Alfaromeo, How do you get the crew discount?

This looks pretty nice -

eBags Mother Lode TLS Mini 21 Wheeled Duffel > Wheeled Duffels > Duffels - eBags

Almost a pound lighter than the TravelPro.

Valetines Day Special expires at midnight - $151.99

Briggs & Riley Baseline 21" with the two inch expansion via zipper. Lifetime warranty for all except cosmetic or cleaning (no questions asked). Plus, when you travel on your own time you dont look like an airline pilot on vacation dragging around your armored bag. Cant go wrong with it.
