Default School Project - NTSB case CHI06FA043

Hello,
My instrument ground instructor assigned everyone in his class a fatal NTSB case. I'm supposed to research information about the pilots and passengers and show the class how we can learn from their mistakes. I found the names of the pilots, not much else, especially on the passenger that was the father of the pilot. Can anyone help me? So far I've been able to find the following, but would like a greater history and possible some photos of the family. My teacher wants us to put a face to these cases. Please help if you can.

Mark Johnson and his parents, Arthur Johnson, 78, Maryann Johnson, 77.

Carlton County, Minnesota Obituary Collection - 33

Thank you!

IMO, this is a very odd assignment. To study the technical specifics in a case which offers some potential eduction to newcomers is one thing. But getting into the personal details of the victims, without consent of the family, really seems morbid.

Also I would suggest anyone here think carefully before providing this sort of info.

I agree with rickair. Knowing personal details about the pilots, crew, or passengers is irrelevant to the technical aspects of a fatal case. Putting a face to this case (or any other case) will not help a student learn.

If the poster and/her the instructor has any concerns about this, please PM me. APC is not the kind of place to troll for this type of information. I could be persuaded to change my position if you can articulate a good argument as to how knowing personal details can help advance this class.
