Default “Labour, out of touch with reality" RE Pay

And so the it begins....Management/ATA rhetoric and appeal to public opinion will increase as more contracts come up for renewal and pilots strive for restoration...

“Labour, out of touch with reality, is the next risk. We cannot afford salary increases with our $47 billion in losses. Pilots and crew must come down to earth and strikes at this time are short-sighted nonsense. Labour needs to stop picketing and cooperate,” the IATA Director-General, Mr G. Bisignani, said.

from Bill Moyers Journal . PAYDAY FOR CEOS | PBS
United Chairman and CEO Glenn Tilton had negotiated a new contact and even larger pay package reportedly worth $39.7 million. According to THE NIGHTLY BUSINESS REPORT, "during [its] three-year reorganization, the carrier slashed thousands of jobs, scrapped pensions and cut wages up to 50 percent for its hourly workers. The wage cuts United negotiated with its unions last another three years."

Yes, we are most definitely out of touch.

Fritz beat me too it.

I'm constantly amazed that some poor soul that has lost his pension, his job, marraige, family, etc because of people like Tilton haven't gone on a USPS style shooting spree of management yet.

Doesn't apply to me. I'm labor, not labour.
