Taking life to new heights
How many of us could actually do this job?

In the same vein, Joe Mcnally did a shoot where he shadowed the replacement of a light bulb on top of the Chrysler building. Look at all those safety harnesses!

I would think a parachute would be standard equipment! One of those things you don't want to have to use, but it would come in handy if you did need it

I was watching a show on dangerous jobs. One of them was changing the bulb on top of Seattle Space Needle. The funny part was when a lady asked him why he doesn't wear a hard hat/helmet, he responded 'from this height, it means no difference'

Free Climbing??? THAT IS NUTS!!! Hard to believe OSHA allows it.
I got butterflies in my stomach just watching it. The one thing I will say for the work, those guys must be in good shape to climb a 15 story ladder. |

Parachuting would be tough...you would need to jump with the wind and be in control to avoid impacting the tower on the way down. Odds are if you fall you won't have enough control or be able to get under control fast enough...those towers get wider on the way down. Plus chutes are heavy. I'd use my safety line. |
Video no longer available do to copywrite stuff. Crap!
