In your off time?

Just curious.

What do most of you airline pilots do in your off time. I often hear of pilots who have lucrative second jobs. How does it affect your family life to have a second job? Do you work an un-godly amount of hours extra? I was just curious.

I know that alot of peolple do not like to talk about their money or how much they make. But for an individual like myself, that information usually helps me with ideas to better myself and provides me with more options to contemplate. Thanks.

I ask because I am trying to figure out what i will be doing when my time comes at the airlines. I am going to be possibly buying a tractor and start a lot mowing business on the side.

In my off time, my second job is that of a professional sofa inspector and beer connoisseur... Some other popular side vocations with pilots: financial planners, mortgage brokers, day trading, real estate investors, realtors.

I play with my kids on my days off. It doesn't not pay well (in money).

Some of the guys I work with are doing the following:
Farmer
Movie producer
Real Estate
Vending machines business owner
Security Business (not guards)
Airshow pilot
Author
Custom Cars

Im thinking of buying an ice cream truck. It would be an easy thing to do while on reserve.
