Airplane! I and II

Any fans of this movie out there? Back in 1990 when I was a little kid, I must have watched both movies at least a hundred times. Just wondering because this is what sparked my interest in aviation, and I have seen a few Otto the autopilot avatars around here. That movie makes me laugh like crazy even today, but it seems so old now. What are your thoughts?

How old are you anyway?? ;)

You must be one of the few who did not derive inspiration from "Top Gun" when Maverick and Goose took to the skies together.

But the movie was really funny. We need more like that these days. And don't call me Shirley. :)

I love both of those movies:D

Airplane! is great (3 jokes per minute BTW).

This clip is how I feel when I'm flying through 15+ time zones on a "typical" trip

I was born in 1986, don't know why, but Top Gun never really interested me. I've actually never seen the whole movie. It's hilarious to watch the Airplane movies now, because so many lewd jokes, especially the Captain Oveur and Joey cockpit tour scenes, went completely over my head back then.:D

"How about some coffee Johny?" "No thanks!"

I use that line at work once in awhile when someone orders me to be their galley slave.

there's a sale at penney's!

Johnny is one of my fave characters ever "you can make a broche, you can make a pterodactyl".... :D
When I discovered the two movies in about 2nd grade, they provided with the tool of sarcasm, which got me into a lot of trouble at that age...
I used to have to sneak over to friends' houses and watch them as my parents thought they were inappropriate for a little kid!

Are you kidding, I love that movie! I better love it since Robert Hays is a friend...yes, he's fun in real life as well...:D

I also love any movie with Leslie Nielsen in it. If I ever get weak and decide to marry again, it would have to be to a guy with a great sense of humor.

I had to buy the recently released "Dont Call Me Shirly" addition. With it you could send in for an Otto the inflatable auto pilot. Ah, the classics :)

Otto the inflatable...lol...reminds me of a sketch that Bob did back in the 80's when he was a guest on SNL. He was in a hotel room with an inflatable prostitute....it was funny. :D
