Leather Jackets

Any of you guys not allowed to wear them??? We've been fighting with our company for years to get them approved. But for some stupid reason they wont allow it.

Personally I think those single breasted overcoats look stupid, aren't warm, and are made like crap.

It blows my mind that something so small like this, something meant to keep pilots warm and dry in bad weather would be an approved uniform item.

Comfortable and warm, yes. Unprofessional looking? YES! I agree with you company policy. I am probably a part of the small percentage who thinks they look like crap but I feel a good uniform says alot to the flying public.

So you think the pilots at American, Southwest, Air Tran, and countless other major airlines as well as numerous police departments around the country look unprofessional?

As they say on ESPN Monday Night Countdown... "C'MON MAN!!!"

Absolutely, Just the way I was raised thats all. My Mother was very strict on what she wore as well as my what my Father to work. She felt not wearing the jacket and the hat was degrading to the pilot profession. It has stuck with me, just a product of my environment i guess.

Save the leather jacket for riding your Harley to the bar. Come to work looking like an airline pilot.

Yup, yup and yup. Police work is a whole different profession than ours.

What's so hard dressing up for work?

We can wear leather jackets, but I think the blazer looks much more professional. Just my opinion.

The leather jacket always made me look like a marshmallow covered in chocolate.

Do all you professionals have bumper stickers covering your flight bags?

JayHub 12-04-2010 09:33 AM

I like both jackets, just depends how i 'feel'. Its kinda like being smart or smart casual. Now if you want to talk about the HAT......i hate the HAT.
