telex mic repair
 

Hey Gang,

The mic on my Telex Airman 850 is out, and Telex is telling me the only price they can quote me is their $200 flat rate :eek: Has anyone sent a telex headset back to get the mic fixed and what did it run? I can't believe it'd be $200 bucks when the headset cost $450 new. The only other deal I have to use is my earpiece from my short lived flight engineer days...

I know we get over charged for everything, uniforms, etc, but this is silly.

I haven't gotten them back yet, so I can't vouch for their work, but it cost me 30$ to replace a broken Mic plug. Telex quoted me the same "200" refurbishment price.

I sent mine to Telex last year to have the mic repaired and it came to $132. They also replaced the ear covers and cord.
